Let’s face it; absorbing the latest in tech can leave the best of us famished and err… thirsty! On top of that, when traveling for work, it’s always nice to steal away an evening or two and take in the local sights.
Oracle Open World 2015 is a renowned conference that provides new updates on Oracle’s cloud platform. It’s only fitting that its daily curriculum is followed by top-notch food and drink.
To help you achieve that, we’ve put together a mini food and beverage tour of the 1-mile radius surrounding the Moscone center, which will quite literally become Oracle Open World for the remainder of the week.
Enjoy!
Where to Grab Drinks
Just a mile from the Moscone center, Hops and Hominy is a great place for happy hour and some post-show drinks. The relaxed environment is fitting of the conference’s “casual to business” recommended attire. Be prepared for some heavier fare – we recommend the buttermilk fried chicken – and be sure to take advantage of the extensive micro-brew and cocktail lists. They even offer housemade jam in their cocktails!
When Someone Else Is Footing The Bill
Bring your appetite to Bourbon Steak and refuel after a long afternoon of breakout sessions. The outpost from James Beard Award winner, Michael Mina, is just under a mile away from Moscone. Plan for a brisk walk or Uber ride over to dinner. A hearty steak awaits you.
Casual Fare
HRD is a favorite on Yelp. Likely due in part to its online following, lines are quite common at this Asian fusion restaurant. Don’t try to skip out in between sessions! They do offer takeout, however. While we haven’t tried this jaunt first-hand, the kimchi burrito is a definite favorite, according to online reviews.
Like the technology covered at Oracle Open World, there’s constant innovation in the San Francisco culinary scene. Hopefully we’ve helped narrow down the choices, and you enjoy your stay at Oracle Open World 2015!
