inCloud tested 427 different thin and zero clients from many different vendors from around the world. Only 2 could surf youtube.com videos and similar content on the web, but none could do it at 1080p resolution full-screen flawlessly! As such, we teamed up with leading manufacturers who produce small form factor (“SFF”) PC’s which cost $400 each which can do everything that zero and thin clients cannot. Now, 1080p full screen youtube.com and other videos are a reality, which, combined with our “Thin Shell” software which creates a secure yet simple end user boot up and login experience. Nonetheless, buying endpoints can be very expensive, so also recommend leasing or renting. Or in quantities of 5,000 at a time, we can arrange a purchase for as little as $295/each (Windows 7 Pro, Atom D525 processor, 2gb memory, nVidia ION graphics processor, hdmi + vdi output for dual monitor support, 5 usb ports, integrated mini-card reader, wireless keyboard & mouse included).
Well now we are talking about our R&D and IP! Talk to me over the phone and I’ll tell you more but here is a run-down. Our lab has utilized VMware PCOIP, Citrix ICA/HDX … As you may know, Teradici owns the PCOIP protocol. We’ve heard that Teradici has plans to introduce hardware offload cards plus work with acceleration vendors like Cisco and Riverbed to make it easier for WAN’s to swallow. Over the Internet (thanks to cheap broadband) our experience was pretty good. Citrix ICA/HDX delivers a good performance at about 128k a user over a wide range of clients. We also realize Microsoft owns the desktop and the protocols that they advocate are RDP and RemoteFX.
So in the end, working with 25+ vendors, we put together the world’s first viable desktop solution via dinCloud’s dinHVD which optimizes Microsoft’s native protocols by 62% and delivers an experience on the desktop which no others can touch, all from one management console. Also, while lab testing, our solution kept on working at up to nearly twice the error ratios typical solutions break down at. This was great for various parts of the world where network connectivity is not very good.
Too many Clouds force you to figure out how to fit your IT infrastructure into them. dinCloud becomes a very easy extension of your existing infrastructure either in a private cloud (onsite in your datacenter) or public cloud (offsite in dinCloud’s datacenter or nearby colocation facility) configuration. We create a virtual private datacenter then connect it to your infrastructure using a point-to-point (“P2P”) VPN or private line connection (you provide or we can sell you one at low rates). We use your private IP addressing scheme. Many of the controls that trigger various functionality in our Cloud, is built around your Microsoft Active Directory. This is key when provisioning or de-provisioning Hosted Virtual Desktops (“HVD’s”) or virtual applications (which can be assigned to individual users or groups in active directory at which point our service executes the task). We also have a lot of co-management interfaces we open up to you. We’re kind of like the DirecTV of Cloud; we give you the clicker and provide the service. After all, who wants to call an 800 number just to get the most basic stuff done? No one understands your IT infrastructure better than you do. Having been IT Managers ourselves, we “get it”. We blend in, and we do it at amazing cost points which you could never get on your own. A typical 5,000 user deployment on a 36 month term costs approximately $22M or $127 per user per month. dinCloud is $0 CAPEX and $85/user per month (includes Windows OS license & endpoint device otherwise prices may be lower) which is a 23% OPEX savings! Less cost, more features, ease of use, guaranteed results, licensing experts on staff (Microsoft etc.) plus certified engineers (Cisco, Microsoft, VMware) makes dinCloud the biggest no-brainer in virtualization history!
We have a 100% track record in dealing with applications in a hosted desktop virtualization environment. Applications can either be:
- embedded into any number of master images which then get deployed to users or departments within your organization
- are already virtualized in our enterprise app store and ready for immediate provisioning
- will be virtualized by our expert staff
- can be deployed from .msi packages to entire pools of desktops automatically
- installed on the desktops using traditional software distribution methods
- installed on an app server and subsequently published as an app to desktops & mobile devices and we have other tricks up our sleeve, just ask!
We have datacenters all around the world since we are partnered with all of the major datacenter providers like AT&T, Quest Communications, Equinix, Alchemy Communications and others who offer can offer Tier 1-4 capabilities to meet various price points. My personal HVD is located in our underground datacenter at LAX, but can move anywhere else in the Cloud if I want it to or even be exported into a private cloud onsite (we build plenty of those as well). All data in our cloud is backed up every hour for 7 days at each site and replicated to a different geographic sites 1,000+ miles away every 24hrs. We can connect customers’ existing infrastructure using any carrier on a private circuit (that either you or we provide) or p2p VPN. You can also use your RFC1918 private IP addressing. Our solution was made for networks with latency and errors so it’s a lot more robust than other popular VDI protocols. Internally at dinCloud, we have users in Pakistan, India, China, UK, USA, and more, and quickly found that a traditional VDI approach with today’s off-the-shelf products weren’t going to work and often times weren’t tightly integrated with Microsoft’s native operating system, applications, and protocols (rdp/remotefx). Our solution optimizes core Microsoft functionality by 62%, it doesn’t replace any of it, and fills in the gaps where they do exist until Microsoft does come out with a solution. It’s a truly agnostic approach that works well with VMware, Hyper-V, Parallels and others. Because we can build you a public dedicated cloud in any datacenter in the world or a private cloud onsite, you’re guaranteed to get the best experience ever.
